Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 14, 2026
Last updated: October 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains how Cryptology LLC ("Cryptology", "we", "us" or "our") handles information in connection with the Mine Over Magma mobile game for iPhone, iPad and Android (the "Game") and the website at mineovermagma.com (the "Site"). Together, the Game and the Site are the "Services". This Policy applies wherever you use them. Rights that depend on where you live are described under Your rights.
The Game is not out yet. This Policy describes how it will work when it is released, and we will update this Policy before then if anything changes.
Please read this Policy to understand how we handle your information.
In Short
- The Game works offline and needs no account. Your progress stays on your device.
- So we can improve the Game, it sends usage data and crash reports to Google, which runs Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics for us. They do not include your name or anything you type.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the Game asks before it sends any of this. Everywhere else, you can turn it off at any time in Settings > Privacy > Help Improve Mine Over Magma.
- Apple and Google handle purchases. We never see your payment details.
- There are no ads and no tracking. We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
- The Site sets no cookies. Vercel counts its visits and measures how fast its pages load for us, without identifying you.
This summary is a guide. The sections below are the full Policy, and they take precedence if the two ever differ.
Who We Are
Cryptology LLC makes the Game and runs the Site, and it is responsible for the personal information described in this Policy (the "controller", under data protection laws such as the GDPR):
Cryptology LLC

Sheridan, WY 82801

Email: contact@cryptologyapps.com
Wherever you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, you can reach us about this Policy or your information at the email address above.
What We Do Not Collect
The Game does not ask you to create an account. Through the Services, we do not collect:
- Your name, email address (unless you email us), phone number or postal address
- A password, or the sign-in details of your Apple, Google or other account
- Your contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera or precise location
- Your payment card or bank details
- Health information or any other sensitive personal information
- Your device's advertising identifier
The Game has no chat or messaging.
Information in the Game
On your device
Your progress and settings are stored on your device. If you turn on iCloud (on iPhone and iPad) or Android backup, Apple or Google keeps a copy under your account and its own policies, and we cannot see it. Deleting the Game deletes what it stored on your device. A backup copy stays for as long as your backup settings keep it.
Usage data and crash reports
The Game uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics, services Google LLC provides to us, to understand how the Game is played and to find and fix crashes and errors. When usage data is on, the Game sends:
- Usage events, such as when you start and finish a dig, how deep you went and how it ended, the gear you took, which screens you open, and whether reminders are on and when you open one. Google Analytics also records some events by itself, such as the first time the Game is opened, each session and how long the Game is in use, Game and operating system updates, crashes, in-app purchases (the item and its price) and, on Android, when the Game is removed or its data is cleared.
- Your Game settings.
- Crash and error reports: the technical state of the Game when it crashed or ran into an error, with its recent log messages and the usage events from just before it, and a record of each time the Game is used, with basic performance information, so that crash rates can be measured.
- Device and Game information, such as your device model, operating system version, language and Game version, and an approximate location, such as the country or city, that Google works out from your IP address.
- Identifiers: random identifiers that Google Analytics and Crashlytics give your installation of the Game and, on iPhone and iPad, the identifier Apple gives our apps on your device (the identifier for vendor). The Game does not send your device's advertising identifier to Google.
None of this includes your name, your email address or anything you type, and we do not use it to identify you.
Your choice. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the Game asks for your consent before it sends any usage data or crash reports, sends them only if you agree, and lets you change your choice at any time in Settings > Privacy > Help Improve Mine Over Magma. Everywhere else, usage data and crash reports are on unless you turn them off in Settings > Privacy > Help Improve Mine Over Magma. Turning it off stops usage data straight away and crash reports from the next time you open the Game. Before the Game knows your choice, it sends nothing: a crash that happens first is kept on your device and sent only if you allow it. Google describes how it handles this information at https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Purchases
Apple or Google handles every purchase in the Game. We never receive your payment details or the sign-in details of your Apple or Google account. The Game checks with the store, on your device, which purchases you own. Apple and Google send us sales and order reports, which we use for accounting, taxes and refund questions. If usage data is on, Google Analytics also records purchases, as described under Usage data and crash reports.
Age range
To meet laws that require it, the Game may ask Apple or Google for your age range, for example whether you are under 13, through their age features. Where those laws apply, Apple or Google may also tell the Game whether a parent or guardian approved it. Apple and Google decide what to share. The Game uses the answer on your device only to meet those laws, never for advertising, analytics or profiling, and does not send it to us.
Notifications, sharing and ratings
If you turn on reminders, your device schedules and shows them. The Game does not create a push notification token, and no server sends them. If you share a picture from the Game, your device's share sheet sends it where you choose, and we do not see it. If the Game asks you to rate it, Apple or Google handles the rating, and the Game does not learn whether or how you rated it. A written review you post appears on the store under the name your store shows.
Information on the Site
The Site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives your IP address, your browser's description of itself (its user agent), the page you ask for, the page that linked you there and the time, and keeps logs of these requests to deliver the Site and protect it from abuse. Vercel's standard retention is about 30 days for general access logs, and longer for security-related events, as described in Vercel's privacy policy.
- The Site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Its fonts and pictures come from the Site itself, not from other companies.
- Vercel Web Analytics counts visits for us. For each page you view, it records the page, the page that linked you there, your country and region, your browser, your operating system, your type of device and the time. It tells visits apart with a code made from your request, which it discards after 24 hours, and it keeps nothing that identifies you or follows you to other sites.
- Vercel Speed Insights measures how fast each page loads on your device, with the page, your country, browser, operating system, type of device and network speed, and nothing that identifies you.
- The things on the page that react to your pointer, and the moon that shows tonight's phase, work entirely in your browser. Nothing about them is stored or sent anywhere.
- The store buttons are ordinary links, and nothing loads from Google until you click one. On iPhone and iPad, Safari may show its own App Store banner for the Game, which it loads from Apple. The stores' pages are covered by their own privacy policies.
Emails You Send Us
If you email us, we use your email address and what you write only to answer you, to fix what you report, and to keep a record of privacy requests, arbitration opt-outs and legal notices. We keep that correspondence for 24 months after our last reply, except arbitration opt-outs and legal notices, which we keep for as long as we need them to honor or defend them. If we learn that an email came from a child under 13, we use it only to answer that message and then delete it, unless a parent or guardian contacts us about it.
How We Use Information
We use the information described above only to:
- Understand how the Game is played, so we can balance and improve it
- Find and fix crashes and errors, and keep the Services secure and working
- Handle purchases, refunds, accounting and taxes
- Meet age-related legal requirements
- Deliver the Site
- Answer your emails and requests
- Comply with the law and respond to lawful requests
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build profiles of you, and we do not use your information to train artificial intelligence models.
Legal Bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases:
- Consent, given when the Game asks, for usage data and crash reports. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings > Privacy > Help Improve Mine Over Magma; withdrawing does not affect what was sent before.
- Performance of a contract, to handle your purchases under our Terms of Service.
- Legitimate interests, for the Site's hosting logs and its visit and speed statistics, answering emails, asking for your age range to protect younger players and to meet laws outside your country that apply to us, and keeping sales records for tax and accounting. Our interests are Services that are secure and work properly, and meeting our legal duties. We have weighed these against your interests and kept the information to what these purposes need.
- Legal obligations, where the law of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland requires something of us, for example answering requests about your rights.
Your right to object. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time, on grounds relating to your situation, by emailing us at contact@cryptologyapps.com.
You do not have to give us information. No law requires you to, and the Game works the same with usage data and crash reports turned off.
Automated decisions. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
Who We Share Information With
- Service providers that work for us: Google, for Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics; Vercel, which hosts the Site and counts its visits and page speed; and our email provider. They may use the information only to provide their services to us, and they must protect it at least as well as this Policy does.
- Apple and Google, as described above, for purchases, backups and age ranges.
- Authorities, when the law, a court order or valid legal process requires it, or when it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our players, the public or us.
- A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. They will be bound by this Policy or one that protects you at least as well.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it for targeted advertising. We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Where Information Is Processed
Cryptology is based in the United States, so when you email us, you send information to us in the United States. Google processes usage data and crash reports in the United States and other countries where it runs data centers. Vercel delivers the Site from servers in the United States, the European Union and other countries. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from yours.
Where our providers move information from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland to another country, they use the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, with the United Kingdom's addendum and the Swiss amendments, or their own certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, its UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards by emailing us.
How Long We Keep Information
- Usage data: Google Analytics keeps usage data linked to an installation of the Game for 14 months, and while the Game is still in use on that installation, the 14 months start again with each use. Summary reports that combine many players' data and identify no one are kept longer.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
- Emails: as described under Emails you send us.
- Sales and order reports from Apple and Google: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- The Site's hosting logs: as described under Information on the Site. Its visit and speed statistics identify no one, and Vercel keeps them only as totals for the period its service provides.
Deleting Your Information
Deleting the Game deletes the progress and settings stored on your device, and the Game's random identifiers start fresh if you install it again. To remove a backup copy, delete it in your device's iCloud or Google backup settings. Deleting the Game does not delete your purchases, which belong to your Apple or Google account, so you can restore them later.
You can also ask us to delete the usage data and crash reports held for your installation by emailing contact@cryptologyapps.com. Because the Game has no accounts and does not show you the identifiers this data is kept under, we can find it only from details you give us, such as your device model and when you played. If we cannot find it, we will tell you, and Google still deletes it at the end of the periods under How long we keep information. To have your emails to us deleted, email us from the same address.
Your Rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us at contact@cryptologyapps.com. Because the Game has no accounts, we can connect information to you only from what you send us, as described under Deleting your information. We answer within one month, or within the time your local law sets if it is shorter. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland
You have the right to access your personal information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, to object, as described under Legal bases, and to withdraw your consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the United Kingdom, you can complain to us by emailing us at contact@cryptologyapps.com with the subject line "Privacy complaint". We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it without undue delay and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
United States
Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, and to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of it. We give these rights to everyone, wherever they live. We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising or use it for profiling, so there is nothing to opt out of. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or by emailing us at contact@cryptologyapps.com with the subject line "Privacy request appeal". We will tell you in writing what we decided on your appeal, and why, within the time your state's law allows. If we deny your appeal, you can contact your state's attorney general. You can also ask someone to make a request for you, with your signed permission.
Other countries
Many other countries give you rights over your personal information, including Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA and provincial laws), Australia (the Privacy Act 1988), New Zealand (the Privacy Act 2020), Japan (APPI), South Korea (PIPA), Singapore (PDPA), India (the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) and South Africa (POPIA). Email us to use yours. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
If you are a kid: you can play without telling us anything about yourself. The Game never asks for your name, and nobody can message you in it. To help us make the Game better, it tells us how it is being played and when something breaks, but not who you are. You or a grown-up can turn that off in the Game's settings.
The Game is made for a general audience, and children may play it. This section is our notice under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws, and it applies to players under 13.
- Who collects it. Cryptology LLC, at the contact details under Contact us, with Google as our service provider for Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. No advertising company collects personal information from children through the Game.
- What we collect. Only the usage data and crash reports described under Usage data and crash reports, which include random identifiers for the child's installation of the Game, on iPhone and iPad the identifier for vendor, and an approximate location, such as the country or city, worked out from the IP address. We do not collect a child's name, email address, phone number, precise location, photos or voice, and children cannot share anything with other players through the Game.
- How we use it. Only to support the internal operations of the Game: to understand how the Game works and is played so we can improve it, and to find and fix crashes and errors. We never use it to contact a child, to show ads or to build a profile. We keep it to these uses by not linking it to any other information about the child, by not including any advertising tools in the Game, and by turning off Google's options to use the data for advertising.
- Who we share it with. Only Google, which processes it for us. We do not disclose children's information for advertising or for anyone else's own use.
- How long we keep it. Usage data for 14 months after the Game was last used on that installation, and crash reports for 90 days, as described under How long we keep information.
- Parents' rights. A parent or guardian can stop further collection at any time by turning off Settings > Privacy > Help Improve Mine Over Magma, or by removing the Game. To review or delete a child's information, email us at contact@cryptologyapps.com, as described under Deleting your information.
Security
We protect information with encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limit who can see usage data, crash reports and emails to the people who need them. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Breach notification. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will tell the authorities and you, on the Site or in the Game, where the law requires it, and without undue delay.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals. The Site and the Game do not track you, sell your information or share it for advertising, so there is nothing for these signals to turn off, and the Services work the same with or without them. Google and Vercel collect usage data and statistics only for us, as described above; we do not let advertising or other companies collect information about your activity in the Services over time or across other apps and websites.
Links to Other Services
The Site and this Policy link to Apple, Google and others, whose own policies cover how they handle information when you visit them. We are not responsible for their content or practices. This does not apply to our service providers, such as Google and Vercel, when they work for us: we are responsible for how they handle information on our behalf.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when the Services, the law or our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a change that matters, such as collecting a new kind of information or using it for a new purpose, we will tell you on the Site or in the Game before it takes effect and, where the law requires, tell Apple and Google too. If you keep using the Services after a change takes effect, the updated Policy applies. If a change would let us use information we already hold in a materially different way, we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
Disputes
This Policy is governed by the same law as our Terms of Service, and any dispute about it is resolved as described there, including the steps for trying to settle it informally first. Nothing in this section takes away your right to complain to a data protection authority or to go to your local courts where the law gives you that right.
